Today I popped over to the garages in order to clear out one garage and strip one of the cars, why strip one of the cars? Surly nothing is beyond restorations, well I can say hand on heart this HA was well beyond usable.
I pushed out the windshield to find the front valance was filler and old yellow pages (yes that’s right PAPER!),and more interesting was the A Pillar it was loose!
It wasn’t much better at the back end, I thought of taking the rear tank out and seeing if I could make use of it, alas it was welded into the car! God knows who would weld a fuel tank into a car. The welded brackets also acted as the metal strips between the chassis rail and the outer-wing, as there was no floor below the tank. Top of the rear wing was not much better either.
From the car I managed to get good front and rear screen rubbers (a good send!) the headlining with no splits, the trim form the sides (no dents) and a new dizzy, carb, radiator, loads of bolts and clips (never can have to many bolts) A new set of bumpers and some boxed new spares.
The garage is still a bomb site and that still needs to be cleared (might be easier to get a skip I think!).
Alas the rain stopped play and I am back home now, and should spend some time stripping and cleaning the head of the blue 1159cc engine for Maz.
