I went to Weston Park yesterday with a few friends from the Drivers Club, the three of us drove over in convoy which I am sure was a boring drive for the others as I was in Marvin. I can tell I have some work to do on the car, namely sort the carb out as its missing at around 55MPH and its rough all the way up the rev range.
Mind I did find a nice new offset oil pump (always handy) for a Fiver (top price) lots of other tatt at the autojumble, but I am in no mood for buying things to sit on a shelf and then either give them away later to someone free or at a loss.
Yesterday whilst at Weston Park I won a reverse eye uprated spring for the front suspension off eBay. once fitted it should lower the front by an inch or two. As I am going to do a disc break conversion on the car at some point why not lower it a bit at the same time.
I also bumped into one of my old cars, and what a pleasure it was to see it, all shiny and well looked after, praise must go to its present owner for the hard work put in to sort out the rear end.
The car now sits on some nice cosmic alloys, a great period upgrade and its sets the car off great.
Parked next to the HC was the super condition light blue HA, 9807 miles on the clock. Its in good hands and that’s a good thing, also in the pile of vivas all gathered together was a Blue SL90 saloon with a mixture of Brabham badges strips, a GT grill and soon to have a GT bonnet. (why not I say)
There were too many cars to photo them all, but I know lots of other forums have pictures already posted of the show, so best you go google a bit if you want to see more of the huge collection of vehicles on show.
