Yesterday afternoon and this morning have seen me remove some of the electrical item from Marvin which make no sense to remain in the car any more. Mainly the stereo as with my loud exhaust I cannot hear a thing. Secondly the alarm system which no matter what I try appears of of died a death. Its been a long drawn out process but worthwhile as the car is now a lot cleaner and 10kg lighter!!! Even did things like re-route the choke cable and saves nearly 3 foot of choke cable!
One other item needed attending to anyway as the indicator stalk was broken, I have used the Mk1 GT stalk as that is all I had in the shed for now.
I have refitted a new throttle bracket so no more mucking around with bent bits of metal that even Meccanno would reject
And you can see in the image bellow the modification made to the manifold so I can remove the rocker cover without that tedious remove the manifold and carburettor each time.
Right just need to put the steering wheel back on, sort out two wires one for the voltmeter, screw in the dash tray and its all done. Over this week I shall be using Marvin to try and get some more miles on the clock (still only at 1600 since built) and get it as best I can.
