Viva GT: water pump again
Good news, a nice man in a lorry dropped off a parcel this evening so I was straight out to the garage to get it fitted. The water pump is back rebuilt, tested and ready to refit.
The pump was very quickly sealed then fitted to the bare clean block, the oil drive gear was then refitted and torqued up ready for more parts to be added.
I fitted the drive pulley and checked the alignment, all is good to carry on rebuilding the front end of the car.
I still need to get some gasket paper for the thermostat housing, so the top bits can wait. Next its in with the radiator.
I then spent some time making sure all the bolts were correctly done up, loctite added if needed and all marked up with a paint marker, so I know I don’t need to check them later. I will finish the hoses later when I get the clamps I am waiting for.
It’s almost ready to carry on filling with fluids and checking for leaks again. Which is the plan for the weekend. So a week lost due to a leaking water pump, its making my time lines very tight for other jobs. The stress is starting to build up, so I need to myself and make sure things don’t get on top of me.
