Viva GT: laser engraved lids fitted
Well those lids came out great, after seeing the video yesterday I was very excited to receive the actual items this morning. The laser did a cracking job, cannot even feel an edge to the engraving!
Here they are on the car itself, ready for tomorrow, when Scott and myself do the job we both hate, but seem to do all the time either to his or my car(s)!
the battery was charged by this morning as well, the engine spins over easy, and the oil pressure light goes out (7lbs one fitted) Lotus say a 5lbs switch is the required minimum so I went just above. I did not get oil up to the oil pressure gauge yet. I may well spin off the oil filter and prime it, something I should have done first, but I have no intention of trying to start it yet.
Like all slant four engines the oil pumps are high up, so charging them takes a while, I have no reason to keep trying for now, just needed to see it spin over check the timing and add extra oil (it took another 1/2ltr so that 4.5ltrs so far)
Once the brakes are done this weekend, I shall start on the coolant, then the fuel. Once those are done its over to Martins for seat frames, then Northampton Motor Sport here we come, any time in between is sort the list of a thousand jobs out.
