Viva GT Fuel lines
I have started on the fuel lines today, its stainless braided PTFE AN6 hose with relevant AN6 black fittings (I hate that red and blue stuff you see everywhere). the car will need dual lines front to rear, plus a few odd hoses between pump, tank and filters.
A couple of false starts in the week due to poor tools, I attempted to cut the hose a couple of attempts, but with the help of a good friend this afternoon, and his angle grinder (I do need a new one) and some super thin discs, we have succeeded in getting a good clean square cut.
We made up three hoses to start with, two for the fuel pump and filter array, the other under the bonnet. Below is an image of the two fuel lines for the filters and pump. None of the lines are done up everything is still finger tight. I want to clean the hoses out before I tighten then correctly. I will also add a couple of P Clips at each end to hold the hoses from flapping about, when I get the right sized ones. I also need to get the flow direction of the pump and the filters all arranged as well before its mounted back under the car. A good start so far.
Tomorrow I will run the line under the car and measure it all up for length then set about cutting the two long hoses.
I still need to find a good solution for mounting the hoses under the car, right now is a rivnut with two P clips back to back, but now I have three hoses (two fuel and one brake). I think I may need to add extra rivnuts and alternate which of the two hoses are held all the way down the car?
