Viva GT: Front seats done (sort of)
So the seats are in and now they are ready to come back out again to finish off the carpets handbrake and centre consul correctly. But the main message is the passenger seat went in very quickly no mucking about unlike the drivers seat. As always when you have done something, doing it again is easier.
Once the passenger seat went in we realised that the two outer flat floor panel areas and the two inner flat floor panels are at differing heights, so the seats were leaning away from each other at the tops. Several spacers were made up to slip under the outer seat rails and hey presto the seats were in line vertically, the knock on effect is even more elbow room for me, which is needed. Big elbows don’t you know.
The seat bolts were all removed again, so I can lift and slip the seats forward to fit the rear carpets and underlay, then sort the handbrake. I can then sit the seats right back and sort out the front carpets. Once thats all done I will deal with all the correct nuts bolts and washers for the final bolt down.
The seat belts I will have to deal with another time, but for now, thats the work I was offered (thanks Martin you are a star) and all in less than 24 hours including rain storms.
