Viva GT air filter finished
All just little jobs, but one at a time seems to be getting me towards the goal of a finished car. Don’t be under the illusion mind its near finished because it isn’t. Today I had to get some spring washers before I could finish off the air filter. I have now fitted the trumpets and bolted everything in place where it needs to be.
But before I could do that I had the change all the oil take off’s as one of the sensors was in the way of the filter.
A quick check of the filter back in place showed I now have room under the filter and good access to bits I still need to action upon (the oil crank case vent in the background for example).
Once that was all checked it was onto the trumpets, which are now held onto the backplate and throttle bodies with small 5mm bolts and the 5mm lock-washers I had to get this morning. Also note the new longer fuel rail return hose, now it’s a touch too long but I can live with that for now, once everything is in its final position I can if needed shorten it an Inch.
The wires all over the top of the engine all need sorting out as these feed form each of the various sensors on the engine and need routing neater, but until I have the passenger footwell area / glove box work done, there is little point as I will not know what length they need to be.
So a basic list of under bonnet tasks to do are, radiator mounts, hoses, heater box, oil catch tank pipes, brake / clutch lines. A much smaller list than christmas!
But soon I must attend to the glovebox and fuse box location solution, once that is in place I can get the heater controls back in the air defelctor behind the centre consul. This then allows me to get the heater box back in and get on with the hoses / Radiator mounts.
