VBOA Spares day
What a good show, for once I got all the parts I wanted and some more at realistic prices. A huge pile of engine bearings, most are the sizes I need which is good, I managed to get the whole lot including four nos conrods (1256 ones) for £40. That included 5 sets of main bearings and 10 sets of big end bearings.
Also in the pile were two bags of Flywheel Bronze bushes (10 in total), a bag of 20 rocker nuts (which are always hard to find new) Three new timing chain rubbers, three boxes of sump gaskets and a huge bag of maybe 100 rocker springs (the ones that go under the rocker buckets). So that’s me happy, just need the shed fixed and off I shall go.
I also collected a manta 1800 Gearbox for a mate, so that needs to go over to the garage later today.
Some sweet cars were in the car park, and some nice people to chat to in the hall, luckily I got to speak to those that I needed too. For once I kept things short and sweet and keep my eye on the ball (getting engine parts), but I did manage to photo one of two nice cars I had not seen before. I am sure loads of others will of wandered around the car-park with cameras and those will appear on someone else’s website, but for now here are one or tow nice cars I spotted.
No idea what was under the bonnet?
Darth… the 1800 Hc estate, I shall be helping swap its engine for a 2300 at easter.
Clean looking HC, gls grille conversion?
Looking used but very rare these days, a chevanne.
