Unleaded
I collected a head today from the workshop, its very shiny. The bottom end done the head done, just need to ad the little bits like dynamo, starter and carb.
One shinny head
Its been converted to unleaded and I have popped out one of the valves out so I could see the new exhaust valve seats. Once I have cleaned up the rocker gear with new rockers and pushrods the engine is all ready for a car or van?

The Copper gasket is to convert the engine to Low compression as used in some of the HA vans, I don’t have to use it but if I did it would reduce the power on the engine to around 30BHP (on a good day) If it had the right camshaft it would pump out a rocking 21.5bhp at 3500rpm, 48.2lbs at 1200rpm, no idea what the camshaft looks like and or who has one, but got to be worth a laugh building it.

The good news is I have found the right jets for the carb should It go low compression, the weedy jet cut off the fuel in the carb on overrun, and saves fuel. I know it makes it a right low power weak engine, when combined with the low compression engine; but in today climate of silly amounts of pounds per gallon of fuel its starting to make sense.
ON the other had, a low compression engine offers the option to slap a turbo on it… it should be 7.3 to 1 with the copper gasket so no fear of killing it (to quickly) I have the hollow pushrods ready as well.
In other news this weekend should see the final few jobs done on Marvin and a test drive / usability ? about time to as the MOT runs out next week LOL I checked the last MOT and I have managed 76miles this year.
