Its arrived… superb quality thanks a zillion Peter…. I now just need to finish off the cross link to the throttle bar between the carbs, sort out a bush in the manifold. everything lines up as it needs to just need to sort out a wee clamp to hold it in place either side of manifold to stop it moving forwards out of the bulkhead bush and its done and dusted. The finished item will see the cross bar going under the manifold not on top as it lies at the minute.
I asked on the Viva owners forum for some help with this picture.
And this arrived from my friend Peter up North and was duly slapped onto the car to check its fitting, its perfect!
In other news I re did the tappets on RAY with the engine running this time, its far far better than it was, and drives better, but there is still the odd tap tap so I have not got it right yet, and the engine still needs time to bed in form its 25 year sleep. I did stick the timing gun on the car and noticed that at tick over the timing is moving ? either i have a slack timing chain and or worn shaft on the dizzy?
A swapped dizzy is the easy bit, adjusting the timing chain adjuster isnt that hard, but one has to consider converting it to an automatic chain tensioner.
More other news, I have started working on another HA front subframe and will have this looking like new soon, lots to do, lots to spend money on, lets just do this slowly as money doesn’t grow on trees.p align=”center”
