This morning and some of early afternoon was spent in Leeds assisting Kat to swap out the old 1256cc engine and replace it with a shiny 1159cc 90 engine. First job after a cuppa coffee was to pull out the offending lump of 1256cc ness and put it to one side
Once that old unit was out of the way we could see the large hole left.
We then set about putting all the little things like engine mounts and gearboxes on to the engine.
At this point we broke for much needed bacon and black pudding sandwich and a second coffee, it was still only 11:30am. After a very nice sandwich made by Cobweb we returned to the scene of the crime and continued and within another 30 minutes has the whole engine and gearbox lowered into place.
That was that, a quick pack the hoist away, slip the tool and another engine in the boot of the Escort and by 2:15pm I was away on I got home around 4.00pm. I think I will unload the car tomorrow, I have done enough lugging for one day. I think kat is happy with the result, I know I was as nothing went wrong, no funny bolts missing clips etc.
