Today I think I have finally finished the strip down, all that’s left is the gearbox, sunroof and the door glass. I think I am will be happy to leave those items to the workshop. Not that they need to remove the gearbox for painting in the engine bay, all it needs is a cover and they can paint to their hearts content.
Here is the bare engine bay, its not rust by the way its gallons of bleedin waxoil, i officially hate the stuff! Hopefully I will have time to prep the engine bay so its nice and shiny ready for paint.
I have also removed the headlining in one piece and it looks fairly simple to duplicate, however I fancy a much darker one and not in that horrible brush nylon foam backed crap that used to be there.
Good news and possily the most scary part was removing the screens, they came out easly and the rubbers are fine (at £110 a time it was a slow process but all is well)
