Today I took some time to look at the engine from the green HB, all looks very good and all bar two bolts were easy to undo. I have taken one main and one big end off , and the shell ends are like new at STD size, so nothing needs doing there, however It will need stripping down to get the block honed.
I also found the bronze bush in the back of the crank was broken, so a new one will be needed.
The best part found so far is the timing chain tensioner, its the early and rare version, and like brand new, Me thinks i shall have to keep that away form certain people.
That’s all i have done so far with that engine, But I did start to reassemble the old recon engine I got a while back, it was already reconditioned but had been sat around for 10 or so years, it was also missing a crankshaft, now it has a crankshaft is all clean and tidy, just need to get a new timing gear for the camshaft and then I can bolt it all back together.
