Stripped Marvin naked

So what am I going to find, as I decide to strip marvins old engine, I am awaiting new bearings for the 1159cc from Adrian, so its either watch paint dry, or get on with the other engine.

So off I pop the sump to reveil perfect clean crank case, smooth new rebored cylinders a set of new Hepolite 0.030″ pistons, a balanced crank and a new oil pump!!! Thats weird, the last owner told me the engine had been worked on and went like a rocket. After a quick call I was told the real truth that the “old” engine in the car had gone like a rocket till it went bang, and this engine was new and never been used. OOPS.

After cracking open the big ends I found the problem, one of the big ends was stripped back to metal.

I opened the oil pump and it was full of white metal, and the oil galleries were showing signs of swarff.

Full rebuild time it is then.
