Slant four 2300
Well today I finally took the plunge to do something with the old 2300 slant four engine thats been in the shed of plenty for some time now. Its off at the workshop having a rebore to plus 40 (as I have a set of High Compression pistons at plus 40). I have also dropped over the old conrods and pistons, so the Low Compression pistons can be pushed off ready for the plus 40’s to be fitted.
The conrods are the later Bedford CF ones, which are the ones everyone wants.
After the parts are machined and ready, I will collect them and pop them over to Bill the Balancer for him to perform his magic. I have used Bill before and one can only sing his praises, Marvin’s and Tony’s engine’s both have the bottom ends balanced by Bill and no one so far is moaning at the results.
Once thats all done its down to Somerset with the engine in bits for Dan to play with, and more importantly keep him off the streets at night. I am going to offload a whole boot of slant four stuff with him, hopefully to encourage him to pull his finger out and get his Beast back on the road. (see below)
