Skirting the edge last leg(s)
Well its done I am back home now after 20 days in the saddle of the cube. The last leg was the run from Pendine sands back to the M48 services. I think the sun and the fact that it was sunny made the last leg one of the most frustrating (or was it because it was time to finish and the eye was on the goal?) Either way not seeing the sea at all for the first 90 minutes of driving due to high hedges and or roads that are not near the sea, started to play on me.
I have visited the Gower before and walked around its coast, but never driven on the Gower, what a shock that was to sit in a traffic jam of what felt draining, (I have been away from cities for weeks and rush hour to me was two cars outside the local postoffice chatting with each other). So the Gower became a long queue to me. This was followed by Swansea city centre. I think the writing was on the wall so I jumped onto the M4 and just followed that instead, at leats I could see the sea for some miles. Before long I was back at the M48 services having crossed the old severn bridge abs it was over.
A little bit of an anticlimax, but then even if I had pushed though Swansea and then Cardiff, I would of still felt the same at the services? Sorry the only image I took of the whole day was the end. I guess then all I can say is thanks for reading and I hope some of it inspired places for you to visit in the future?
