I have had this a while now, and been working on it for a couple of months on and off (like I haven’t got anything else to do). Story goes I was at a car show and a chap mentioned to me the existence of a cut away engine for a Viva sat in the back of a garage doing nothing (like you do) and that it was only a few miles away. Me being me was interested and asked about the name of the owner what his plans were etc, cut a long story short I obtained the engine on long tern loan off the owner so once its reconditioned we can show it at shows. (we being the Viva Owners Club).
Here it is as collected note the many colours and dirt all over it, which didn’t do it any favours
Right now its been stripped to base nut and bolt, and a better colour system employed. There are still many parts to clean up and recondition, but right now the base block and head are coming together very nicely.
I need to get this finished for November NEC show, but I want to get it out of the way so I can get on with the front subframe and rear axle for the GT. I am hopeful the GT will be home and into temporary storage within the next two months, so time is running down to have the running gear ready.
