RIP GT Engine
Go the news I didn’t want to hear earlier in the week, and yesterday went over to see the old 2000cc block, and its scrap. There is a hole in one of the bores what will make it impossible to use, unless it has a new sleeve fitted. Now when I say the block is scrap, to me its economically scrap due to the high machining costs to fit a new liner. Its a shame as I wanted the original engine rebuilt and put to one side as a just in case.
So I guess that means I have a couple of things I don’t need I can offer to others, and can focus on the replacement engine which has boiled down to a Lotus 912 unit.
In other news the front subframe has been stripped down, and Retropower have the parts to blast and paint, hopefully that will give me some trinket parts to build myself in the shed over winter.
