Parts in post
Well still not seen my car, so in the mean time I have been finding replacement parts for the HA , the GT and a few engine parts, done quiet well this week, managed to get a couple of sets of oversize main bearings for a fiver and best of all took a gamble on a bonnet lace, that’s the rubber trim that goes on top of the bulkhead and the bonnet closes against it. I found that the Cresta one as sold on eBay by a chap called Thamestrader is exactly the same as the original HA part (albeit not having holes for the clips, but that’s easy to sort out).
The good thing is that a friend had offered to start looking at rubber trim for HA’s in her search for all new rubbers for her HA, well after this find its one less item to re-manufacturer and find.
The lace is highlighted in the above picture in red, and below is a cross section picture of the new trim. one less thing to find !
