Viva HC backgammon
Well I said in my last post this weekend was going to be a screw up, and OMG has it been one. I decided it was better for me to stay at home and keep me head down in the paperwork for the club. I opened my mouth and was so happy to hear Clara had her car fixed, spoke to soon! I got a call on Friday around noon saying “hello I think I have just set the car alight! Ive called the fire brigade” OOPS, seems the car didnt like its road trip.
To cut a long story short, the car is dead, will need at very minimum a new head gasket and at worst case a new engine, either way too many people have thrown money at it, and its just a dead lump of metal stuck in Bristol. I have to say I am so disapointed at this, I invested my time and skills (poor at that) into fitting new parts to the car, and obtaining parts for the service, which was done only the week before. But I doubt I am as disapointed as, she is out of pocket, stuck in Bristol and no car to get home!!! British rail to the rescue.
Looks like a euro box is the best option now, at least it will be reliable if borring at hell. maybe I need to take a week off and get over to fit the new engine to soapbox sooner rather than later before she gives up full stop with Viva’s (soapbox is the name of her HA). I was going to do this last month but snow rather stopped play. On other news I might of found , a better car, a 2 door HC S74 (a rare model indeed) in coppertone metalic paint, with MOT and Tax. Here are some pictures I got in an email.
If the car turns out to be good, I shall buy it, ship it back here, and that releases the Green Estate, for another Friend. I will be giving that away once I have the coil sorted and the floor welded up which might happen next weekend? More news on that once it happens.
