Marvin seems to be alive!
Well having decided that I needed a few days off work (un offically with the excuse of illness) to re charge my batteries, I thought I would use some of the time to look again at Marvin.
Now I have no idea what I did but he seems to start and run now… drove him around the block and he drives. It needs a tune up and a full service but the car starts. Mind you I had to jump start the car with a battery, seems I might have a voltage leak on both … the Van I am sure is a nightmare, Marvin is more likley to be a duff dynamo and or loose fan belt issue.
I still need to do a full engine flush, replace the water pump with a new one to be safe, oil flush and replace the filter, fuel filter to place in line, sort the tyres out, tune and time him, then test drive him gradually building up the miles. Still a lot further down the road than when I started.
Decided what I need to do for carberation, is to make him twin Zenith 301z’s… unique to say the least but I have a friend who can make the manifold! Or if thats not going to work then twin SU 1.5″ on my brabham manifold after its modified again by same person.
here is a picture of a similar setup, all be it too tall for me needs, butI am sure making the manifold shorter is no issue to a man like bulldog the welder.
