Lean on me
I collected the 2300cc block this morning and the new pistons (on nice clean con rods now) for it, I shall be fitting them tomorrow, I need to sort the dowel pin out, (the one that helps the head locate on the block) As well as collecting this block I dropped off the crank for acid washing and a nice polish.
I also collected the 1057cc crankshaft I got last weekend that looked like it was going to be a write off, but the good people of IB Engineering have come up trumps and the cranks is now perfect for use. It appeared to have scores that were too deep and it was going to need an expensive grind, but after a deep acid bath and polish its usable as it. I was going to post it to a nice man in Canada, however I think that’s not going to happen as I got a postal quote for a 20kg package to Canada today its going to cost about £75, so I might suggest that he gets his old crank ground as it will be cheaper, then I have a spare crank for use here.
Last on the list of collections this morning was the spare 1159cc +0.040″ pistons, they are off the con rods now, and two are perfect the other two are 0.005″ warped… I should be able to use the two good ones, all I need do now is find a spare con rod and get one of the good ones put on so I can use that piston in the second 1159cc engine. All going to plan again.
Another fine day of loading and unloading engine block…. one day I might have them actually finished LOL.
