Blimey this is going well, popped over to retropower to drop off more parts for them to play with and low and behold the email was true the GT has nice new inner wings all welded in place. The battery tray is gone as requested, the small plate behind that also needs removing but they will get to that later.
They are also working on the doors and bonnet and want the boot lid off me ASAP so I am off to Telford on Thursday to collect it form storage, they don’t need the HB drivers door off me as the one on the car has come up a treat. The passenger side one has two or three trolley ding’s but again its come up a treat. I need to get the quarter windows over to then ASAP so they can be stripped and painted along with the doors.
Last today is a picture of the mock up engine sump and head I obtained for the build. We are certain that the best way forward is mount the bock in the car, fit the steering and if necessary cut the weld the sump, and we need to cut and weld it to fit the subframe, so why not do the steering cut-out at the same time? makes sense to me. That way the steering is simpler and the whole engine and steering set-up will be cheaper in the long run for me.
