HA Engine Part 2
This morning I collected the block from the engine shop, and am happy to announce the block is saved. It was very close and it only needed a light bore and a hone to get it to 30 thou oversized, considering the original pistons were STD, I am amazed this engine actually had any compression when running!
Note the lovely new cross hatching on the bores.
The pistons are being fitted to the con-rods today and those will be collected tomorrow morning. That’s all I am going to do this week on this specific engine as I have lots of other work on the GT to get done as a Priority. But next on the hit list is to find appropriate sized main bearings so I can get the crank ground and fitted.
Then its just a head skim, some new valves seats, valves & springs, an oil pump, then bolt it back together done, ready to deliver into storage at FredShed, and collect the next one.
