GT head and 1057cc block
Dropped off the block to be re-bored tonight, its now going to be plus 0.040″ not 0.020″ as the bores were worse than we thought, luckily I have pistons to match in the shed. So Saturday I shall have a nice bored block, new core plugs, oil gallery open for me to clean, and new cam bearings.
I also attempted to drop off the GT head for its new guides alas my workshop isn’t willing to re-drill the head and his imperial kit is a bit naff (his words) so I dropped it around the corner with another company, they are a little more pricey (£7 a guide not £5). That should be ready Saturday AM the same time as the block.
Otherwise its time to start dragging out camshafts and crankshafts from the garage, along with some con-rods ready to take up to the balancers. Might as well get this balanced and lightened like Marvin’s engine, so its smooth.
I Haven’t looked out a head yet, but I know there are a few in the garage, which I might try some porting on, now I have a new contact for porting in the Coventry area.
That’s its for now, the engine build has started.
