Today I spent a few hours with the GT trial fitting the Toyota W58 gearbox and I am happy to say it will fit in the tunnel, the only issue I have is the location of the gear-stick will be further back than the Mk1 GT. Its in the position of a Baby Viva gear-stick. It took a lot of time to do this purely as we took our time and made sure we didn’t scratch the car.
We also took a look at the sump of the 912 engine and decided it would be better to modify the cross-member than to modify the sump. I think we have worked out a plan of campaign which may take me some time to fulfil before we move forward in a meaningful way, but its a plan. Never fear all will be revealed as it happens.
