Friday end of week
Here are the parts I collected this morning, ready to use in the re-assembly of the 1159cc fast engine.
The crank has been machined to match the new bearings, and also balanced, you can just see the machining at either end of the crank.
The pistons have already been fitted to the conrods, so I cannot show you the little ends, but they have been rounded and about 15 grammes of metal taken out, the same has been done with the end caps, the pistons were also balanced by taking metal out of the inside of the piston skirts.
Here you can see a piston on a conrod next to a standard one, note the machined top surface on the right-hand conrod, these are the ones going into this engine. In the second picture again are two pistons, the right hand one has been balanced (the one on the right again).
So far the crank is in, and two pistons, I have the other two to go in tomorrow, and a major decision on the camshaft, Just what do I put in it, standard, 90 cam and or something hotter?
