Spoke to the machine shop today, the 1256cc big valve head is rubbish. The valve stems are so worn one can rattle the valves in the them, it doesn’t help that the person who “modified” the head decided to machine half the stems away to open out the inlets…
I have three choices,
1/. bigger valves (that’s going be a hard one)
2/. drill out the stems and put in bronze and re drill the guides
3/. get another head and start all over again
Either way this is now becoming an expensive engine, the only parts of it that will remain from the old engine are the cam, tappets and pistons… LOL maybe I should put it to one side till I see what else pops up.
