Carb me up
The solex carb I took off the old blue scrap HA is now fitted to Marvin, it seems better than the Weber that was on the car, it still needs setting up, but from just putting it on the car and driving off its feels as good as the Weber was. I am therefore sure that the Weber is faulty… shame as it was brand new out of the box, and no matter what I did to it it would always run super rich, over heat the car and cause me some worries on a long drive.
I also removed the temp sensor in the head of the old Blue HA and fitted that to Marvin, at last I have a working temp gauge, which I can keep an eye on.
Just the exhaust to fiddle with but its summer and raining heavily now, maybe another day.
In my mind is the engine saga of bulldog, I shall keep my fingers crossed he can make one engine work out of the 4 on the driveway. Seems the engine I built him has a click somewhere? Mike seems to think its a big end, which perplexes me as it was all machined and polished, with brand new bearings, I shall hopefully get it back here to look over at the end of the month, lets just see where things went wrong?
