Well having dropped off the Engine in somerset over last weekend and stayed around for a bit to enjoy the sun, I came home to an even busier week of work on the car and engines. It was a loverly break sat on the beech in the sun, but I seem to feel like things have got even busier for me.
Monday evening after work I ran over to Melton Mowbray to collect the new pedal box, its custom made and features twin brake master cylinders at the front of the pedals so nothing will show in the engine bay, and a hydraulic cylinder for the clutch pedal, as the toyota box in the GT is hydraulic.
I dropped off the gearbox and bell-housing at Retropower with a gearbox crossmember, so they can continue the engine fitting work. When its done it will look like it always fitted, trust me when I say its not.
Wednesday I drove over to John Toovey’s to see the engine for the GT, its got a lot of work upcoming and to help them along I drove over to LotusBits in Coventry to get some parts for the engine then dropped it back over in Cannock.
This evening I have packed the car ready for the weekend, I am off to Maidstone to install the 1057cc engine into a HA saloon. The car is weighed down, maybe 200 kg in the boot? but its doesn’t look that low and its only me driving slowly down the M1 and around the M25 early Saturday Morning.
So that leaves me tomorrow night as the only night to sit back and relax.
