Burn baby burn
Today I took off work in order to get some work done on the GT, its now on a spit roast and can rotate around both ways so I can get under over and around the car with relative ease.
As you can see the front wings are off to get access to the inner wings and bulkhead areas, which are no better or worse than expected.
So to the object of today’s work, remove the underseal, this needs doing as the media blaster doesn’t shift this stuff very well, so someone (e.g. me) has to do the dirty horrible job of removing it. The best method is to heat it up till it softened and scrape it off, which sounds easy but its a lot of surface are and there are lots of bends and corners that make it actually quiet hard and frustrating at times.
By 3pm this afternoon most of the inside, and most of the floor sections have been done, I think a couple more hours tomorrow wit the gas lamp and scraper will see it done.
I have found a new hole in the sill, also noted drivers rear quarter, driver front wing and both rear arches have been repaired at some other time in its life. These all need attention but that’s all within plans.
Had to leave early as the boxed new engine I have is being collected in a bit so need to be home for the courier to collect.
