Bert is a Green Deluxe Roma camper owned by a friend in Evesham, this morning saw me rush over with my engine hoist to assist Nick in the removal of Bert’s engine and gearbox. Hopefully this will allow Nick soem space to make up some bracing so that Bert can be moved to his new home and ultimately restored and back on the road. Bert is full of tin worm, but Nick has the skills and has his Mojo so who am I to say no and not help!
So off with the cables and out with all the odd items like radiators.
Down to the bare engine ready to lift out.
A quick snap of the missing floor and chassis!
Anyway ready to lift.. What will happen?
Well it came out first time no effort at all, Good things do happen when one wants them to..
One nice empty engine bay, we will need a new subframe as this one has been welded to the car !!!
One last picture before I mad a dash for Home, is the gearbox cross-member which fell off the car was held on with a home made plate and bolt through the floor. I suspect this car has many such “features” but I am sure all will be sorted in due time and course.
