Atherstone Village Car Show 2010
I took Marvin to one of the nearest shows on the calender, a total round journey of 12 miles, and that’s being generous! Atherstone market square each year gives way to a car show. Not a classic cars show but a show that caters for everything and anything, form a Truck to a scooter and anything in between.
As always Marvin drove better, each mile that passes I feel the car is getting better, today I rolled down the A5 at a steady 65mph, without too much issue at all.
Saw this on the bonnet of a metropolitan and thought I need one of these on Marvin, but then again not!
I also saw what happens when a car and telegraph pole fight, I will let you guess who won!
Spent the whole day there (well trapped in the square so I had no option but to stay) and I spoke to loads of people, the square was full of the Sherpa convertibles (MGB’s) and morris minors, but on the plus side, there was Marvin and a Pea soup green HC holding up the side for Vauxhall, later joined by a nice Cresta PB and a Velox, not bad for a Midlands based show.
I counted about 100 cars and maybe 100 bikes / scooters, my pictures are just of those cars that flicked my switch….. E.G. all the shite ones, cannot see the point in taking pictures of 205GTi’s and MGB’s any-more.
The scooters came in a bunch of about 100 all at the same time and did a once around the square before all retiring to the pub!
In other news the boot is now full of spares all ready for tomorrows adventures at RetroPower, Getting the disk brakes fitted and some other bits and bob,s. Hopefully it will all be done and dusted and on its new Webber carb for next weekend.
