350Miles, 1 engine and a Macdonalds
The title should say all one needs to know if your not to bothered about details, but read on if your interested.
This morning I set off for Southend to collect a 1256cc engine I won off eBay for £30, good thing about this little engine is the ported head, hollow push-rods and electronic ignition (well no control box but the eye is there!) I also noted some weird mod to the sump, then again maybe that how they came on a model of Chevette I have not seen before. It turns over nice and looks to be in very good condition. I will of course do the look inside part very soon.
As I said electronic parts which i can use !
Its not easy to see but shiny polished ports, (also exhaust worked) not the new core plugs in the head as well. Hollow push rods new springs etc
Seller said it was the spare engine for a racing viva (read banger and or whatever I think) and was run in but then sat to one side as a spare just in case… who knows the truth but seems to have lots of shiny parts ? I had better look inside soon before I pass judgement on it!
So I got home unpacked the car and had a coffee. a long day but re filled the shed of plenty…. Luckily one engine from the shed is on its way up north next week to an owner with a HA, who needs a new engine, seems he has no piston rings and the bottom end sounds iffy…So its one out two in!!!!
