Yet more work on Marvin
Right I had a play with the two suggested issues on Marvin, its not the rocker cover blocking up and over pressurising the crank case….. I took the pipe off and watched the little puffs of smoke so its not blocked up. I warmed the engine up nice and easy, then gave the radiator a nice wash out, and checked all the hoses. I notice its missing a thermostate but I can put one in another time.
I then took Marvin for a short drive of 400 yards and guess what? Its died…. I jumped out and checked the fuel cap, no hiss no nothing when I unlocked it. I flipped the bonnet and checked the fuel hoses were not flattened. Nothing? So I tried to start it and nothing. I sat there for 5 mins doing nothing and Marvin restarted and drove back to the house without an issue. I sat there for about another 5 mins with it ticking over, but decided to rev it so brought it up to about 4000 rpm and left it running at this speed for a few minutes and it died again.
Good thing is that I was under the bonnet and its not the crank case pressure… I think its just dirt and shit again in the fuel lines. Going to have to wait a few weeks now till I can afford to spend money on a fuel filter and jubilee clips, money is a bit streteched with Van off at welders and a big bill to pay comming up very soon… once its back I will know what I can spend. So there we are another day and another failure to get Marvin drivable….
8 months and counting to the day and a little further towards usability.
