1256 engine rebuild part 1
Right the replacement block has been rebored, and new cam bearings fitted. Its also been washed within an inch of its life, so I had better get it painted up this weekend before it gets rusty!
Here is the block, not just how much the blocked is bored at 0.060″, not much meat left between the bores!
I also had the pistons checked over, and again cleaned within an inch of their lives. Its a shame they were on the con rods, and or I cannot find a new set of +0.060″ pistons, as I can only do limited balancing.
The best part is the flywheel, I couldn’t separate it from the crank as I didn’t have a 3/16th allen key (will get one) the nice man at the workshop did it for me. and side by side one can see the massive amount of lightening its had.
Needless to say more toys to play with than I know what to do with, and its all going to get more complex tomorrow and Wednesday… More on that when it happens.
